Report on Sophian’s Day Special Assembly
14 March 2026 – Sophia High School, Mount Abu
Sophia High School, Mount Abu celebrated Sophian’s Day on 14th March 2026 with devotion and joy, honouring the Feast of Mother Mary Matilda and remembering the inspiring legacy of the Mission Sisters of Ajmer.
The Primary Section marked the day with a special morning assembly highlighting the meaning of Sophia – wisdom. The programme began with an introduction explaining the significance of the day, followed by a prayer service and Bible reading, reminding students that true wisdom comes from God. Students offered petitions for the Mission Sisters, the girl child, alumni, all Sophia institutions, and the school community, followed by the Lord’s Prayer.
The assembly continued with the hymn “Teri Hai Zameen” and a short life sketch of Mother Mary Matilda, highlighting her dedication to the education and formation of young girls. As a tribute, Sister garlanded her portrait while teachers offered petals. The values of the institution were also highlighted through the meaning of S.O.P.H.I.A., representing wisdom, openness, excellence, humility, integrity, and service. Adding joy to the celebration, Class V students presented a graceful dance. The programme concluded with the Sophian’s Pledge and the Sophia Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity.
In the Secondary Section, the students of Class IX B conducted a solemn prayer service in honour of Mother Mary Matilda. The programme included Scripture readings, a brief life sketch of the foundress, Prayers of the Faithful, and a beautiful hymn by the Class IX B choir, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. The service ended with a final blessing, followed by a message from the Principal, who appreciated the students’ efforts and reflected on the remarkable service rendered by Mother Mary Matilda.
The celebration served as a meaningful reminder that the values of wisdom, faith, humility, and service continue to guide every Sophian today.
